I discovered earlier this week that I do not care for Columbian coffee. It reminds me of the coffee my parents made and even at the Med-Dark it still tastes weak. I never thought I would be a coffee drinker, but I have learned that I like a bold cup o' joe. I said all that just to rant about the coffee I'm drinking at the moment. (it's Columbian and it was on sale lol)
I have a busy day ahead of me, but David did a shift slider earlier in the week and went in at 6am this morning and I am finding that once I pulled myself out of bed and made myself get moving that I have already accomplished a good bit before I sat down to have a slice of PB toast and some bland Columbian coffee.
It crossed my mind last night when I made plans to get up earlier than normal on my day off that I might take a little nap later today. Who knows I guess I will have to see how tired I am. I am use to getting up early, but I don't always do so well when I go to bed late.
This is such a random post and it really doesn't have much substance to it, but it is still nice to take a few minutes and let the words flow out of my brain before I start vacuuming our home.
Until Later,

Insanity...
Well, Melany's Cleaning has been a success! I'm now a team lead (the only team lead actually) and have received a total of 3 raises in the year that I've been employed for Mel. It's a great place to work and I already see that God is lining things up for me for some pretty serious stuff down the road. It's nice when you are able to catch a tiny glimpse of the "Master" plan.
There are a lot of personal changes swirling around the atmosphere of the Grottke home. It's been a emotionally trying time for me especially, but I think we are finally getting somewhere.
I'm beginning to realize that I don't have to write huge entries that perhaps smaller ones more often are okay, too. Ah, the power of reading. I am also realizing that if I want to journal it is going to have to be early of a morning. If I don't do that (as you can tell by my last post) I will never get around to getting it written. Journaling helps me clear my head. All the things I DON'T say actually have an outlet. Oh the joy's of knowing how to keep my mouth shut.
Gotta go. Time to pack lunch (not sure what that will be. I need to go to the store)

Changes... again.
I know that I haven't updated in far to long. Life keeps me busy and so many other things seem to take priority over updating my blog.
I started my new job with Melany's Cleaning today. I am still in awe of how this job came into my life. I was literally turning an apartment when the owner of the man that cleaned the carpets referred me to Melany. So I called her, I interviewed almost exactly one month ago and was offered the job on the spot. I talked to David and we decided that this was the way we wanted to go. I will immediately have a pay increase and have potential to make even more than I what I was making with my other job and when we do have a baby will be able to work part time if I decide to. This was a large factor in me taking the position. I didn't have that option at my old job.
Anyways, long story short I went the following week after my interview to meet with Melany so that we could establish a start date and to finish up some paper work and then we got to talking about random stuff and it ends up that Melany babysat David when she was 16 and David was pretty small. She has known my husband's family for many years. We were both stunned and I still find myself dumbstruck with the whole thing. I am leaving out some of the details, but the story is incredible and if I had any doubt about this not being the right thing for me/us to do then I knew in that instant that God was really working this to my/our benefit.
I wanted to at least touch base with this and hopefully be able to journal a bit more in the year of 2014, but I'm not counting my chickens before that hatch. I will be working 50-53 hours a week and mix that with our church schedule then I will be pretty busy.
Anyways, David has our supper ready so I am going to go enjoy some time with my husband and try to get some rest. I'm beat. :-)

Craziness
It seems that even though I have good intentions of keeping my blog up to date that I am finding it still challenging to do so. I miss the breather and the chance to clear my head a little, but I'm learning now more than ever before that being involved in the ministry means that the chance for what self wants is far and few inbetween. I love my life, my husband, and our developing ministry so I guess I can choose to not complain.
The healthy eating changes are paying off. I did readjust my orginal goal to be 10 lbs more. I am less than 5 lbs away from the new goal. By the time I do reach that goal I will have lost 51 lbs! David is doing really well and has lost over 50 lbs and last night he biked 5 miles and I think something clicked in his brain because he told me he was craving exercise lol.
I want to write more, but my lunch is just about over so I must go. Hopefully I will be able to write more later.
Until next time!

Well...
One positive thing about my husband's family on his mother's side is that they all live in Flordia. David's grandpa had his 3rd open heart surgery and it involved 7 bypasses.
We heard from my mother in law that he isn't doing very well. So it is possible that we may be making a trip to Florida at a moments notice. The one down side to the trip is that it would be we-get-the-word-we-go because my mother in law comes from a Jewish family and they don't embalm. Who knows Grandpa is a feisty man and maybe he will pull through this one, but my gut says he might not this time. The saddest part is that he is staunchly sat in his ways and it would be a big thing if he came to realize that Jesus is the Messiah. I know that can happen, but I also know that God won't always strive with man... *sighs* I guess now the waiting begins...

And so it snows
Even though it did not stick we have had the first snow of the coming winter season. Bleck... I'm really not ready for it. Guess I'll be thankful for all the extra calories I will burn from vacuuming ice melt off our carpets here at work.
Profile is still going well. I am 19.31lbs away from my goal weight and 24.31lbs from the weight they suggested. David is doing really wonderful, by the end of the year he will be about 40 lbs from his goal of 180 lbs it's amazing to watch the transformation. I love the fact that he's starting to think like a thin person and watching his own opinion of himself change is a wonderful gift to me. We are really changing our family tree. I love the fact that this lifestyle change has enabled me to try things that my mom never fixed before! A new favorite is roasted Brussel sprouts and califlower. I will have to try and post a recipe of it. We are also learning that eating healthy is expensive, but we are also finding that as our eating habits change so do our portion sizes and that helps the food last longer lol
Well, I wish I had more time to write, but duty calls! Until next time!

3 years ago today....
I can't believe it has already been three years.. Where did the time go? David and I certainly aren't the same people were when we said our wedding vows in 2010.
We have had our moments of "intense fellowship" and the melding together of two 25-year-olds each already well set into their own ways has been a bit of an adventure.
I understand better now than ever before the concept of being one flesh. I understand that it takes time, love, trust, and deep commitment for the combining of two people to be as one. There will be days when the process is painful, amusing, annoying, frustrating, comical, passionate, intense, challenging, and occasionally once in a great while highly uncomplicated.
Over the course of the last 3 years we have made some life changes. Some of them are pretty substantial in some ways. We decided it was time to buy our own home, we adopted another cat, and brought Sadie to live with us, we have been labeled Dave Ramsey snobs (I will forever chuckle at that description), and we have decided that it is time to break the family cycle of unhealthy eating and have chosen to change our health overall. (David is officially no longer required to take his blood pressure medicine!)
It's been a great ride. I was hoping to be able to surprise David with me expecting, but God had other plans. He's really bed. Reminding lately of the promise He's given me for little Simon. I had been feel really down upon turning 28 and still childless. My coworker asked me to poke my head our mech room door. I walk outside and see this rainbow (I couldn't get it all but there was a full rainbow and part of another one.)
I was struck instantly with the thought that God keeps his promises and I felt hope return to my heart and I knew that God used that rainbow to confirm to me that He hadn't forgotten his promise to us, but rather that he would give us more than we asked for. A few days later I found myself wrestling with my fear again and this time I found a card that someone stuck in a fire extinguisher case in one of the hallways and I have to admit that God can't get much plainer than the front of this card. Do I think I'm pregnant right now? No I don't, but that is okay because I know already know that every baby is a miracle and I know now more than ever before that someday soon God will bless us with a precious bundle of love because He has heard!
